Colorado Mesa University Department of Theatre Arts is a major provider of arts and cultural activities in Mesa County and on of the main catalysts behind the success of the local cultural community. The university has graduated many actors, dancers and designers who have gone on to be active in Grand Junction and beyond throughout the world of professional theatre. The theatre department performs a season of plays and musicals each year. In 2002 - 2003 the university remodeled and expanded what was the Walter Walker Fine Arts Complex into the Moss Performing Arts Center, which includes a 288 seat recital hall for concerts and a small experimental theatre (the MET) in addition to the 586-seat Robinson Theatre. Jason Rhein has performed locally in many plays and musicals He starred in 'Evita', 'She Loves Me', and 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying', and many other musicals. Stage plays include 'Bus Stop' and 'Death of a Salesman', 'The Odd Couple', and numerous others. Jason also had a prominent role in the Grand Junction horror film 'Machine Head'. He lives in Grand Junction with his wife Kat and dog Onyx. When Jason is not singing, dancing and generally goofing around, he is working on his house and landscaping his yard.
