Home to park and trail maintenance, forestry, weed abatement, horticulture, cemeteries, and sports facilities, Park Operations maintains all parks, open space, urban trails, the riverfront, and City right-of-ways.
The Parks & Recreation system includes 350 acres of developed parks, 111 acres of cemetery, 55 acres of school grounds, and more than 598 acres of open space (for recreation) and 443 additional acres such as right-of-ways, medians, and roundabouts.
The Parks and Recreation Forestry Division, we are dedicated to preserving Grand Junction's urban forest along with providing an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere for all visitors to City parks and facilities.
