Hiring Range and Pay Plan 

All positions within the Grand Junction Fire Department (GJFD) have a unique 10-step pay plan, with each progressive step amounting to an additional 3%. The hiring range for each position includes steps 1-5 of the pay plan. 

Firefighter Hiring Range: 

$23.55 - $30.62 hourly (2912 hours) 

$68,577 - $89,165 annually  

Firefighter/Paramedic Hiring Range: 

$27.37 - $34.67 hourly (2912 hours) 

$79,701 - $100,959 annually
