Biography

Abe Herman was born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, and graduated from the University of Colorado in 2009 with a degree in Philosophy. He moved his home and business to Grand Junction for the incredible quality of life and friendly people and has happily settled into this wonderful community.

Abe owns and operates The Sukkah Project®, a small business based in Grand Junction that ships products to customers nationally and internationally.

Some of the communities Abe has been most passionate about serving through volunteerism are people experiencing homelessness and people with disabilities. Abe also sits on the board of Friends of Youth and Nature (FOYAN), with the goal of providing funding for activities that allow youth in underserved communities to learn and grow in the outdoors.

Abe enjoys mountain biking, skiing, rock climbing, reading, cooking, and spending time with his partner, Jordyn, and their three rescue mutts.

When community members decide to run for City Council, they are making a commitment to our City and to making a difference for those who work, play, visit, learn and live in Grand Junction. One of our current Council members, Mayor Pro Tem Abe Herman shares his perspective about serving on Council and some of the ways he gives back to our community.
