The Grand Junction Police Department is currently accepting applications for our fall Citizens Police Academy!
The Citizens Police Academy is hosted free of charge in an effort to increase understanding and awareness through interaction, education, and training. The goal of the CPA is to create and develop a well-informed citizen about the inner workings of the GJPD and how officers serve and protect our community.
Topics covered will include:
- Patrol Operations
- Communications Center
- Drug Task Force
- Criminal Investigations
- Crime Lab/Evidence
- Bomb Squad
- Traffic Investigation
- And much more!
This 10 week course will meet on Thursday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at the Grand Junction Police Department, from September 19th through November 21st. We will meet on Wednesday, October 30, rather than Thursday, October 31.

Selection of participants will be at the discretion of the Grand Junction Police Department. You will receive notification regarding your application and acceptance to the Academy.
