Pre-School/Kindergarten Presentation

Time: 30-45 minutes

Grand Junction Fire Department Early Childhood Program introduces students to the fire department and fire safety. Through storytelling and show and tell we teach children about the life of firefighters and EMS personnel. An interactive session following the story includes the opportunity for children to interact with personnel in their fire gear and learn about home fire safety.

1st-3rd Grade Programs

Time: 45 minutes- 1 hour

Grand Junction Fire Department Early Elementary Program delivers practical lessons in household and fire safety. Through interactive games, storytelling, show and tell, and team exercises children have the opportunity to meet a firefighter, learn about home fire safety, and practice their own skills in communication and teamwork.

Fire Station Tours

Time: 1 hour

Fire station tours are great for students learning about communication, teamwork, and how structures are designed to make jobs easier and safer. They also give students a real life orientation to the careers of firefighters and EMS personnel.
