- 05-16-2012 Structure Fire 183 1/2 Glory View Drive
The Grand Junction fire department responded to report of fire at 183 ½ Glory View Drive with 7 units and 15 personnel. First unit on scene found significant fire at the rear of the home which had extended into the interior of the home. Fire was quickly knocked down using multiple hose lines on the exterior and interior of the home. Full New Release

Construction on the 23 and G Road Roundabout is complete, on time and budget, and opened to traffic May 14.Full News Release
- 05-14-2012 Scrap Metal Trailer Spills Load Twice
All lanes of 5th St at Riverside Parkway and Ute Ave. at 1st. St. are back open after the same trailer from a semi truck overturned twice, spilling its load of scrap metal each time. Full News Release

The Grand Junction Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a man who has not been seen since last Thursday, May 10. Full News Release

On May 13th, 2012 officers with the Grand Junction Police Department were dispatched to 2276 Acrin Avenue, the Family Dollar Store, on the report of a robbery that had just occurred. Full News Release
- 05-11-2012 Classified Ad Scam
The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating a reported scam that has cost the victim thousands of dollars. Full News Release
- 05-03-2012 Call for Artists Community Contest
In celebration of the newly completed “Tower” at Lincoln Park Sports Complex, the Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture is holding a Community Contest for an art banner for the “Tower” as a part of the 1% for the arts. The winner’s artwork will be digitally transferred to a 10’ X 30’ banner that will hang on the south tower and will be rotated with team banners. Full News Release
- 05-02-2012 New Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem
Tonight, early in the Grand Junction City Council meeting, City Council elected a new Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem to serve for the next year. Bill Pitts, District At Large, was elected to serve as Mayor and Laura Luke, District D, was elected as the City’s Mayor Pro Tem. Full News Release
