For the Week of December 1 - 5, 2008
(This list is arranged in the order by affect on traffic. Those at the top of the list are MOST likely to impact traffic. New projects are in bold.)
Ranchmen’s Ditch Flood Control Project—25 Road Closure
25 Road will be closed to through traffic immediately south of Patterson Road for approximately two weeks starting Monday. The closure is to allow for utility relocations. Southbound traffic on 25 Road will have to turn right at Patterson and detour to 24 ½ Road and Industrial Avenue. Westbound traffic on Patterson Road can use Northgate Drive, Westgate Drive and Weslo Avenue to access 25 Road. All businesses south of the intersection will remain open.
Work on Phase 3 of the project has started near 24 ½ Road and is progressing east with installation of three 78” storm pipes in the open ditch. Patterson Road will remain open at all times, but there will be traffic shifts and reduced speeds of 25 MPH in the 700-foot long construction zone.
North Avenue deceleration lane
Westbound North Avenue will be narrowed to one lane between 29 ½ and 29 Road for the construction of a deceleration lane.
Colorado Avenue reconstruction
- The 200, 300 and 400 blocks of Colorado Avenue are open to through traffic
- The 500 block of Colorado Avenue is open.
- The 600 block of Colorado Avenue is closed.
- The 6th Street and Colorado Avenue intersection is open.
- All businesses remain open and pedestrian access will be maintained to all stores
- Use Ute Avenue and Main Street for travel east and west
- Use First and 7th Streets for travel north and south
E 7/8 Road Utility Project
The Central Grand Valley Sanitation District has an emergency project to replace the existing sewer line in E 7/8 Road. The project should be complete by December 15. Construction will begin on the west end of E 7/8 Road and move east. Working hours are 7 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.
2009 Leaf Pick Up Program
Please watch for crews and machines working on City streets to vacuum up leaves. The Leaf Pick Up program runs through mid-December.
