  • Juvenile Firesetter Program
The Grand Junction Fire Department recognizes that involvement of our local youth in fireplay and firesetting behavior is a significant community issue. Our Department offers a program in conjunction with the State of Colorado, Division of Fire Safety as well as the United States Fire Administration and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to address these issues. We assess each situation to identify the degree of fire behavior and interest. We then provide the appropriate level of fire safety education for the child. Additional intervention may also be necessary. This service is offered at no cost to residents of our Fire District. If you are concerned about your child's interest and involvement with fire, or if you are interested in finding out more about the intervention program or scheduling an appointment with an educator, please call 970.244.1400.
