Annual Leaf Removal Program
Program starts October 10, 2016 and runs through mid-December
The purpose of this program is to eliminate excess leaf build-up along City streets that can cause storm water drains to clog. These efforts help prevent flooding and reduce negative impacts affecting our water quality. Leaves collected during this program are taken to the Mesa County Organic Materials Composting Facility where they are recycled and turned into compost. Over 10,000 cubic yards of leaves are collected annually!
The City is divided into five different areas, with specific rake-out dates assigned to each. A post card is mailed to City residents the first week of October. These post cards are specific to residents in each area and contain only the rake-out dates for that area. Please keep this post card so you can refer back to your scheduled rake-out dates.
