Annual Leaf Removal ProgramResidents can help maintain the crucial operations of our City's stormwater drainage system by participating in the Annual Leaf Removal Program each fall. Over 10,000 cubic yards of leaves are picked up annually! From mid-October to December, street sweepers and leaf machines work along City roads to eliminate excess leaf build-up on streets and prevent the clogging of stormwater inlets, which can cause flooding and adversely impact water quality. This proactive effort helps prevent more costly emergency maintenance if drains get clogged.Other options to dispose of leaves include mulching them with a mulching blade to use as compost in your yard. You can also take leaves, year round, to the Mesa County Compost Facility, FREE of charge.
