Comprehensive Plan
The City of Grand Junction has completed the process of developing a comprehensive plan. On January 12, 2010, the City Planning Commission recommended approval to City Council and the Mesa County Planning Commission adopted the Plan at a joint public hearing. City Council adopted the Comprehensive Plan February 17, 2010.
This Comprehensive Plan was developed through an interactive community effort and will play an important role in guiding the future growth and development of the City of Grand Junction.
The vision of the Comprehensive Plan is "Becoming the most livable community west of the Rockies." To achieve that vision, the Plan established six Guiding Principles, twelve Goals and thirty Policies that will shape the communities' growth through 2035.
We invite you to view the Comprehensive Plan document to learn what those Guiding Principles are and how the Goals and Policies of the Plan will help us realize our vision.
