
Mission Statement
The Mission of the Computer Aided Design and Drafting team
is to provide professional services and support for City staff
and the public. This support is provided through the compilation,
translation, and organization of survey data along with as-built
construction plans of the City's complex infrastructure systems.
It is our mission to provide this information and service
with proper accuracy in a professional and courteous manner.

Organizational Responsibilities
and Functions
• Provide services to the Engineering Division that
includes drafting and design for new public works and utilities
projects.
• Drafting and design for the rehabilitation of the
City's existing infrastructure.
• Update construction drawings on finished City projects
to represent the project as it was finally constructed in
the field. These drawings are referred to as “as-built
or as-constructed” drawings.
• File and catalogue digitally all City of Grand Junction
projects after completion in the form of as-built drawings
for utility locations (sewer and water), street projects,
any rehabilitation, reconstruction, or expansion of City of
Grand Junction infrastructure, and various maps/air photos
that are of interest to the City.
• Provide the public and City departments with the maps,
plans or technical information related to the City's infrastructure.
• Prepare and update infrastructure system maps maintained
by the City of Grand Junction.
• Provide topographical data for use by the public,
City staff, and other agencies.
• Provide advice concerning computer hardware and software
as related to design and drafting of City engineering projects.
Our Staff
Currently the Computer Aided Design and Drafting Team is staffed
with two full time positions. Our employees average over
ten years of experience in the engineering and the computer
industry and have a wide range of graphic, design, database
and computing skills.
