 The
City of Grand Junction provides trash hauling services to residential
properties within the city limits with some exceptions. The Solid
Waste Department also provides services to businesses of all types
including construction dumpsters. There are two types of containers
depending on the customers needs. Commercial dumpsters come in 2,3,4,6,and
8 cubic yard sizes. These can be picked up 1 to 6 days per week.
Construction dumpsters are available for cleanups and small construction
jobs. These containers are 2 cubic yard in size and are serviced
on a "will call" basis. For residential customers we have
automated containers in 64 and 96 gallon sizes. Any combinations
of these containers can be provided depending on the customers need.
Price is based on size and number of containers . To obtain more
information about containers, rates, more pick-ups per week or additional
dumpsters, contact the Solid Waste Division at (970) 244-1570.

| Special Pick-Up For Bulky
Items |

The Solid Waste Department offers special pick up, and
bulky item removal. There is a fee for this service and
it is based on the volume of material collected. Loose material
must be contained and should not exceed 50 pounds in weight.
Bricks, concrete, and steel cannot be collected as they
are damaging to collection vehicles.

Limbs and brush must be cut no longer than four foot in
length and tied in bundles no larger than 18 inches.

Most appliances - except refrigerators, freezers and
refrigerated air conditioners - can be collected, although
we prefer they are recycled. To recycle your appliances
call Double "D" Service at (970) 241-8793 or Tim's Appliance Service (970) 257-1256 or Refrigerant Certification Services (970) 234-1564. The Solid Waste Department
also offers construction dumpsters for small building projects
and clean up.

free pickup for new customers!

| Handicapped and Elderly
Assistance |
The Solid Waste Department provides a special service
for those customers with physical disabilities. The equipment
operator will pull the customers automated container out
and service it each week. To be added to the list for assistance
please call (970) 244-1570.

| Holiday Trash Pick-Up |
During the six major holidays listed below, there will be no trash or recycling collection. Both residential and commercial trash collection scheduled
on these six holidays will be collected the following day. Trash collection scheduled for the remainder
of the week will also be one day late. For the recycling holiday schedule, please contact GJCRI at (970) 242-1036.

Trash and recycling collecton will be on regular schedule for any other holiday.
Items such as clothing, housewares, furniture,
and books can be
reused by local charities.
