Grand Junction Regional Communication Center

The Grand Junction Regional Communication Center (GJRCC) is a 24 hour, 365 day a year operation, responsible for answering 911 an non emergency calls. The GJRCC is located in the Grand Junction Police Department and has a staff of 46 employees who are responsible for dispatching 8 law enforcement and 11 fire/EMS agencies in Mesa County.

To become a trained 911 telecommunicator, a person must complete eight months of classroom and on -the-job training. This extensive training process includes learning numerous policies, understanding how to handle a variety of requests for service, and becoming certified in Emergency Medical Dispatching, CPR and Colorado and National Crime Information Center Operations.
