Cultural Arts
The Arts Commission
is a nine member volunteer board appointed by the City Council
whose mission is “to
create and nurture a climate and conditions in Grand Junction
in which the arts can thrive and grow.” The Commission
is dedicated to developing and improving the quality, quantity,
and affordability of arts and culture for the citizens of

Financial support for local arts & cultural events
& projects
Implementation of the Grand Junction Strategic Cultural Plan
Administration of the City’s 1% for the Arts program
(art acquisition)
The Sourcebook: Directory of Grand Junction Area Artists &
Arts Organizations
Annual Business in the Arts Awards,
Community Cultural Events Calendars,
Slide presentations about arts activities,
Economic Impact of the Arts in the Grand Valley reports,
Annual Arts Roundtable for arts organizations,
Workshops for local artists and arts organizations
Technical assistance and networking opportunities, and City Hall art exhibits.
