Recruit Academy
The academy began on September 14 with three recruits, Benjamin Blehm, Patrick Dibsie, and Robert Hedrick. Also current Firefighter Treece Bohall participated in practical exercises missed in the last academy due to injury.
They covered a wide variety of topics taught by both GJFD employees and outside instructors. The group has performed well together and overcome some difficult challenges.
The academy was enhanced by the generous donations of the National Guard for the use of their classroom facility and VanGundy’s Ampco donating numerous vehicles. The instructor pool for this academy was outstanding. The academy class graduated on November 20, at 4pm, in the City Hall Auditorium.
