Grand Junction Fire Department's
Public Information/Education Division
The Grand
Junction Fire Department provides for life safety, environmental
protection, and property conservation through community education.

The GJFD's Public Information
Officer (PIO) is responsible for disseminating accurate information
to the public and media in the event of incidents involving a
Fire Department response. The PIO also oversees the department's
public education programs.

The Grand Junction Fire Department
provided 1,033 individuals from various businesses with fire extinguisher
training and fire safety education last year.

Every year, firefighters go to the area pre-schools
and elementary schools and teach the children the importance of
fire safety. Last year, Grand Junction Firefighters touched the
lives of over 8,000 children.

The Grand Junction Fire Department
participates in several safety fairs throughout the year.
