The Grand Junction Fire Department currently employs 112 full-time & 7 part time employees working from five locations and has a service area totaling 77 square miles of Mesa County. Being one of the largest paid fire departments between Denver and Salt Lake City, the Grand Junction Fire Department is virtually a self-sufficient organization providing a variety of services. Firefighters respond to emergencies from four fire stations located throughout the City of Grand Junction.

In addition to emergency response activities, the Grand Junction Fire Department is very active in training, fire inspections, pre-fire planning and public education. We offer numerous opportunities for continued training for career enhancement and skill development.
