The Planning Division of the Public Works and Planning Department is a staff of professionals with extensive educational and professional experience in planning. Our main function or goal is to promote the orderly growth and development of the City consistent with the desires of the community. Our guiding documents and principals have been adopted by the City Council and reflect the desires of the community.

What's New in Planning? Planning Commission has New Meeting Time The Grand Junction Planning Commission has changed its meeting time from 7:00 PM to 6:00 PM. They will still meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, but will now start one hour ealier. This new time will start with their first meeting on January 8, 2008. Comprehensive Planning Process The City of Grand Junction has adopted an infill and redevelopment program that furthers the goals and policies of the City Council's Strategic Plan and the City's Growth Plan.
