The City maintains a weekly list of public works projects that could affect traffic in your neighborhood or on your daily commute. The list is updated weekly and posted on Friday for the following week's projects.

 

Public Works Projects For the Week of
March 8-12, 2010

This list is arranged in the order by affect on
traffic. Those at the top of the list are MOST
likely to impact traffic. New projects are in bold.

Downtown Uplift
The 4th and Main intersection will be closed to traffic starting Saturday, March 6 through Wednesday, March 10 for utility work. Motorists can use First Street or 7th Street to access downtown. From March 11 through 17, one lane of 4th Street will be open but no turns onto Main Street will be allowed.

Parking is open at the Rood Avenue parking structure and the Colorado Avenue lots. All sidewalks in front of Main Street businesses remain open and access is available to many businesses through the back door.

26 ½ Road bridge reconstruction at F ½ Road
The bridge over the Grand Valley Highline Canal just north of F ½ Road is closed for replacement through April 16. Detours for northbound traffic will be via Horizon Drive, and southbound traffic will be detoured at G Road to 26 Road (First Street).

Phase 2 Waterline Replacements
Work continues to replace waterlines in 15th Street from Elm Avenue north to Bookcliff Ct.  Closures will be one block long at a time, with no through traffic allowed. Detours will be marked. The project will continue through the end of April.

2010 Parkway Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Project
Work continues on construction of a new sewer from the intersection of 15th Street and Winters Ave. south to the Parkway and then west along Struthers Ave. to just west of 5th Street. During construction there will be single-lane, two-directional traffic on Struthers Ave. near the work zone. Please reduce your speed and follow all traffic control signs. The project will be completed in July of 2010.

29 Road Closure
29 Road between D and D ½ Road is closed to through traffic for construction on 29 Road Overpass. Access for residents will be maintained. The closure is expected to last through the winter.

Central Grand Valley Sanitation District (CGVSD) sewer replacement project at I-70B Frontage Road and 31 Road
CGVSD is replacing the existing sewer line on the north side of the I-70B Frontage Road between 30 Road and 31 Road. Starting March 1, 31 Road between the I-70 Business Loop and E ½ Road will be closed to through traffic. The crew will begin at the I-70 Business Loop and move north to E ½ Road installing the new sewer main. Local residents living on 31 Road between I-70 B and E ½ Road will have access to their homes.

The detour will be 30 Road to the west or Warrior Way to the east.

Irrigation Crossing, South Camp Road at Wingate School
Monday March 8th through Friday March 12th, expect delays.
