Time to Clean Out Your Closets...The City Employee Clothing Give Away is Just Around the Corner!
The City of Grand Junction Employees’ Association is getting ready for their 21st annual Clothing Give Away. The Clothing Give Away will be held this year at the Lincoln Park Barn on Friday, August 3 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, August 4 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The Clothing Give Away is held each year by City employees as part of an effort to give back to the community. The Give Away makes clothing available to those in need, and is especially helpful to those who need clothing for their children as school begins.
The public is invited to join City employees in making donations of clean, “gently used” clothing. New, in the package, undergarments gladly accepted; used undergarments will be thrown away for health safety. Shoes with life left in them will be accepted as well.
Clothing donation containers in which the clothing can be placed are on the west side of the Lincoln Park tennis courts from now through July 29th.
Each year the Clothing Give Away serves hundreds of individuals and families from our community who are in need of clothing. Full News Release
