GJPD & MCSO SWAT Teams Collecting Toys For Tots

The Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff’s Office SWAT teams are arming themselves with toys this weekend, hoping to bring some extra joy to area kids this Christmas.

SWAT team members are bringing the BearCat, the SWAT team armored rescue vehicle, to the Mesa Mall on Saturday, December 10 from 11am-3pm. It will be parked next to Target, where SWAT members will be collecting toys for the Marine Corps Toys For Tots program.

After you drop off your new, unwrapped toy, climb aboard the BearCat and learn about this joint agency vehicle. You’ll have the chance to take your picture with our car thief, as members of the Western Colorado Auto Theft Task Force will also be on hand to give you safety information to help prevent your car from becoming a target for thieves.

WHAT: Stuff the BearCat toy collection for Toys For Tots
WHEN: Saturday, December 10 from 11am-3pm
WHERE: Mesa Mall, next to Target
WHY: We want every kid to have a Merry Christmas!

If you can’t make it out to Mesa Mall this Saturday, you can also drop off your toys at any of these locations:
Mesa County Sheriff’s Office: 215 Rice St.
Grand Junction Police Department: 625 Ute Ave.
Fruita Police Department: 101 W. McCune Ave in Fruita
Colorado State Patrol: 554 Jurassic Court in Fruita
