Due to recent weather events, the Leaf Removal Program has been postponed indefinitely.
You may still bring your bagged leaves to the Municipal Service Center located at 333 West Avenue on December 13 and 14. Drop-off hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The purpose of this program is to eliminate excess leaf build-up along City streets that can cause storm water drains to clog. These efforts help prevent flooding and reduce negative impacts affecting our water quality. Leaves collected during this program are taken to the Mesa County Organic Materials Composting Facility where they are recycled and turned into compost. Over 10,000 cubic yards of leaves are collected annually.
The City is divided into five different areas, with specific rake-out dates assigned to each. A post card was mailed to City residents the first week of October. These post cards are specific to residents in each area and contain only the rake-out dates for that area. Please keep this post card so you can refer back to your scheduled rake-out dates.
To see a detailed map of each area, go to the GIS Maps page, click on the link to the Transportation Map. In the Map Legend, located on the left side of your screen, select the "Leaf Pick-up Areas" (second from the bottom) layer . Once this layer is activated you can "Zoom In" or "Search" for your address. The area you live in will be clearly identified on the map and highlighted in the color according to the Map Legend. You can also search for your pick up area by Zip Code .
You may notice crews removing leaves in an area not scheduled for pick up that day. This is usually done to clear the way for routine street maintenance. Crews will remain on schedule and pick up each area on designated rake-out dates.
